: : I am Chinese/Jamaican/American, and my mother was also born in Jamaica. My father was born in China, but is deceased. I have been invited to the Grand Opening of a traditional Chinese restaurant very near to the Chinese New Year. The owners are dear friends and have let me know that I should bring something which is considered good luck, but I'm not sure what that would be. Any advice you might have would be a great help.
: : Thanks in advance.

: Since the restaurant is just opening, people like lucky things. You should bring oranges with a gift. For example, a golden horse or an asian cat, something jade, or even a big lucky bamboo plant! well, that's what I would bring if I were you. anyway, good luck.
: p.s. i'm Chinese too and my father had a restaurant as well. -friend
