: The date in the header on the http://www.yutopian.com/history/qin.html
: page should be changed to 246 -- 206 BC. It was confusing before I
: realized it was a mistake!

The reign of Emperor Shi was between 246 - 206 B.C. but the Qin Dynasty
lasted between 221 - 205 B.C. The Warring States (or Zhan Guo) did not
officially end until 221 B.C. when Qin Shi Huang unified China. While the
Qin Kingdom existed long before, the Qin Dynasty was marked by the unification
of China. The unification of China played a crucial role in the dating of the
dynasties by historians.

Also, Qin Dynasty ended in 205 B.C., not 206 BC, because Emperor Shi's
son ruled for a short period after his father Shi died.

We hope this clarifies some of the confusions you may have.
