Style and Material of Chinese Constructions
Copyright Yutopian 2000
Traditional Chinese constructions can be divided into three
main parts, namely, the foundation, the building, and the roof. The foundation can be subdivided into sub-foundations.However the Chinese paid far less attention
to these sub-levels than the other parts of the construction. As a matter of fact, some of the best constructions
in China have sub levels of cursory attention.
The foundation was built on top of the sub foundation with
bricks forming the surrounding and the top of the foundation.
