It is the theology concerned with the final events in the history of the world or mankind. The figure below is an eschatological chart on the end time prophecy. Let's take a look at Daniel 9:26-27. Therefore, consider the message and understand the vision: "Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy. "Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him (Daniel 9:23-27). Daniel had the vision of Seventy sevens or 70X7 = 490 years. The first seven 'sevens' or 49 years which began with the Persian Artaxerxes' decree to rebuild Jerusalem (Daniel 9:25; Nehemiah 2:1ff) to possibly the closing of Nehemiah's ministry. A) The sixty two 'sevens' take one to the Triumphal Entry of Jesus Christ into the Jerusalem city where He was heiled as Messiah. B) As the vision has predicted, the Anointed One or Messiah was cut off (Daniel 9:26a) after four days. C) The prophecy also predicted the destruction of the Jerusalem temple (Daniel 9:26b) in 70 AD.Note that all the prophecies have come true before the second coming of Christ, which begins with the last 'sevens' as in Daniel's eschatological vision. One may notice a time gap between the Triumphal Entry of Christ and the Second Coming of Christ. A lot of theologians believe that had the Jews truly accepted Christ when He entered Jerusalem, the Kingdom would have come immediately. Thus it makes perfect sense that this period, known as the Prophetic Gap, is not slated in the Daniel's end times prophecy. Mysteries in the Prophetic Gap:There are a number of events during this time period that are referred to as mysteries in the Bible. For examples, the giving of the Holy Spirit, the church age, and the rapture of the church. For example, Paul said in Romans 11:25-26- I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob", and in Ephesians 5:32- This is a profound mystery-but I am talking about Christ and the church. Three out of six prophecies in Daniel's vision have come true and there are three more eschatological end times prophecies (or end time eschatology prophecies) D, E and F that should happen anytime now. Note that there is no other prophecy that needs to happen before the second coming of Christ, or the Day of the Lord. The Day of the Lord-The Day of the Lord includes both the Second Coming of Christ and the Millennium. The Bible told us that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. It will come suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman (1 Thessalonians 5:1-3). There may be warning signs that the Day of the Lord is coming, but no one knows the exact timing. Some of the events for Tribulation are prophesized in Mathew 24, and Jesus used the Parable of the Fig Tree (Matthew 24:32-35) to let us know that these will be the forth-warning sign of the Day of the Lord, for when its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves (warning signs of Tribulation), you know that summer (Day of the Lord) is near. Some of the examples of these warning signs include, hearing wars and rumors of wars (Matthew 24:6); Christians will be hated by the world (Matthew 24:9); many will fall away and forsaking of Christianity (Matthew 24:10); and the rising of false prophets (Matthew 24:11).
