The Israelite Monuments (1489 A.D.) Three monuments were awarded to the Israelites in China. The first one, known as the Hong Zhi Monument was erected in (1489 A.D., during the Ming Dynasty). The title of the monument reads, 'Rebuilding the Qing Zheng* Temple'. The inscription on the monument, containing the origin, the doctrine, and rules of Judaism was written by King Zhong, an official in the Kai Feng. The second one, known as the Zheng De Monument was erected in 1512, with the title 'Salute the Way of Scripture Temple'. It was written by Zhuo Tang, an official of the Sichuan Province. The scripture on the monument became much closer to that of Confucius' teaching. The third monument was erected in (1663 A.D.), with the title, 'Rebuilding the Qing Zhen Temple.' It was written by Liu Chang , an official of Guang Lu. On the monument are information on the origin, history and doctrine of Judaism. In 1912, the temple was sold to the Christian Church and the two early monuments were moved inside the church. The block-print copies of the monuments were sent to Rome. In China, nowadays, followers of Judaism are nowhere to be found, but the Qing Zheng cuisine remains popular.
