Chuanzhou Cross Monument (1300's) Between 17 and 20 century, four cross monuments were unearthed in Chuanzhou of Fujian. The first one was unearthed in 1619, in Xishan. The second one was found in a field near the Dong Shan Temple next to the Donghu Lake, outside the Renfeng Gate in 1638. The third one was unearthed in Shui Lu Temple of Chuanzhou City. The fourth one was found by a missionary inside a temple in 1906, and its picture was published in the December issue of the Tong Bao Journal (1914). This monument was very similar to the other three, and according to research were the artifacts of the Catholic or Nestorian faith from the 14th century. Unfortunately, all of these monuments were lost.
