Nicolas Trigault (1577-1628 A.D.) Born in 1577, Trigault was a French missionary. He became a Christian in 1594 and traveled through India (1607) to come to China (1609). He preached in Macao (1610) and Najing (1611). In 1612, Niccolo Longobardi sent Trigault back to Europe and presented a Chinese Missionary report to Pope Paul V. In 1618, Trigault returned to China and arrived at Macao, carrying more than 7000 Bibles sent by Pope Paul V. Beginning in 1621, Trigault started a missionary expedition trip, preaching in Nanjing, Shao Zhou, Kai Feng, Xian, and Hangzhou. In 1628, he died in Hangzhou.
