Zhang Fei was a native of Zhuo Jun. He served Liu Bei together with Guan Yu at a young age. When Liu Bei joined Cao Cao, Zhang Fei was appointed as General Zhong Long. After Cao Cao and Liu Bei broke up, Liu joined Yuan Shao in Hebei. Later, Liu went to Jing Zhou and followed his uncle, Liu Biao after Yuan Shao was defeated. In the thirteen year of Jian An, Cao Cao led his expedition army to the south and chased Liu Bei to Chang Ban of Dand Yang. Liu fled without his wives and children. Zhang Fei cut off Cao Caos attack with twenty cavalries at Longbridge (Changban). His courage was often admired by the Chinese.
