1975 Hua Guofeng was vice premier to Zhou Enlai.
1976- Chairman Mao and Zhou Enlai died.
1976 to 1980- Hua Guofeng became premier of China.
1976 to 1981- Hua Guofeng became chairman of Communist Party
Deng Xiaoping
(1981 - 1993)
1952, 1973- Deng Xiaoping was vice premier of China for two different periods. The only leader to come back in power after two purges.
Deng was known for his economic and social reforms to help modernize China.
Jiang Zemin
(1993 Present)
1993- Jiang Zemin was appointed as president of China, Jiang attempted to fight widespread corruption and inflation, and tried to repair relationship with the Western countries.
