SoftwareGoMaximizer (GMX) - Item EBGMX
The first two GMX editions are: Volume 1 - Collected Games of Honinbo Shuho (c. 300 games) Honinbo Shuho (1838 - 18886), the 18th Honinbo, was probably the first Japanese player to teach westerners, particularly Oscar Korschelt, a German engineer who worked in Japan. Shuho had a magnificent attacking style and forced all his contemporaries to take Black in all games. This collection contains over 300 of his games, together with over 40 other games, famous and infamous. A full biography is included. Volume II - Huang Longshi the "Chinese Dosaku" (105 games plus 50 by Dosaku) Huang Longshi, who lived in the 17th century, is considered by Go Seigen to be the equal of Dosaku, one of the two Go Saints in the Japanese go canon. This collection contains 105 of his games from Chinese sources, about one-fifth with the original Chinese commentaries translated. For comparison there are 50 games by Dosaku, many also with commentaries. The disk also includes a superb 7-game match between Nie Weiping and Ma Xiaochun. Full biographies of Shuho and Dosaku are included.
